Sevre traumatic ankle arthritis and HBOT

I have been dealing with severe traumatic ankle arthritis, a condition that has significantly affected my mobility and quality of life. Earlier this year, I underwent an arthroscopic ankle procedure, hoping it would bring relief. However, by three months post-surgery, the results were disappointing. My recovery was slow, the pain remained severe, and walking was difficult enough that I often needed a wheelchair.
Exploring Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Because my progress had stalled, I decided to try hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). The goal was to support healing, reduce inflammation, and improve tissue recovery.
After completing 36 HBOT sessions, I experienced noticeable benefits:
Improved walking ability
Significantly reduced inflammation
Better overall physical well-being and strength
Unexpected improvements in skin appearance.
During this period, I also tried additional treatments, including steroid injections to reduce inflammation and a structured exercise and rehabilitation program to improve strength and movement
The combination of surgery, steroid injections, exercise, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy contributed to my progress. For me, HBOT was the intervention that produced meaningful, measurable improvement after months of limited results.
