Bronchiectasis and HBOT

I am a woman living with bronchiectasis, a chronic lung condition in which the bronchi—airways in the lungs—become permanently damaged, widened, and thickened. These structural changes make it difficult for the lungs to clear mucus, leading to frequent infections and persistent inflammation.
My condition became quite severe after I had COVID. I required ventilation and supplemental oxygen to breathe, and even basic activities like walking up the stairs became a real struggle. During this difficult period, I began a course of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) at the Oxychai Therapy Centre, completing a block of 40 sessions.
Throughout the treatment, I noticed remarkable improvements in both my lung function and physical strength. Notably, during the entire time I was receiving HBOT at Oxychai, I did not experience a single lung infection and was able to stay off antibiotics—something that had not been possible for me in a while.
More recently, a blood test revealed that my blood count had significantly decreased—this was a positive outcome, as it indicated that my body was no longer fighting off an active infection.
While my overall health is still a work in progress, I am hopeful and eager to continue with more sessions to maintain and build upon the improvements I've made.
I’m incredibly grateful to the Oxychai Therapy Centre for the care, support, and dedication they provide to people in the community. Their work truly makes a difference.
